Minnie Riperton - Inside My Love (live)
All I can say is Wow! Music heads have probably heard this song before and sample heads may have heard this flipped a few times(check ATCQ "Lyrics to Go" and Slum Village "the look of love remix" for the best examples) but Minnie kills this live, high notes and all. Witness talent and effortless elegance music today definitely lacks. peace.

you ain't no blood...
It's a new day, and finally, the perpetrators are being exposed. I'm sick of seeing rappers making millions and at the same time glorifying a lifestyle that has killed and imprisoned millions of black, white and latino brothers. They are doing a disservice to the kids, and this shit just ain't cool anymore. Watch and spread the message, we gotta step it up. peace.

The Time is Now.
Two days ago we made history. It was a beautiful sight running out at 11:o2 pm onto Broad Street to see Black kids, White kids, Latino kids, everybody together to celebrate the election of Barack Obama. As I've come down from the high, reality has set in. People, now is the most crucial time in American history. We cannot let this monumental moment be the end of the struggle. Having a Black President is a gift and a curse and only time will tell whether we will truly be better off. I am not pessimistic but a realist and already I've seen friendships crumble due to peoples beliefs. Listening to my friends talk about how much things will change makes me think...do we really understand what that change will be? I've heard many folks claim now that Barry is President Elect that racism is finally over. Uh....I don't think so, just because one Black man has been elevated to this most prominent status in America does not mean that injustice doesn't still exist. Systematic and Institutional Racism is alive and well, and I honestly feel that it may even get worse now that Barry is in the White House.

New Dead Prez
Finally some new Dead Prez back on their revolutionary but gangsta shit. Listen to some truth, this election is political theatre, just remember that McCain and Obama are running to lead a corrupt system, so go ahead and vote for the lesser of two evils.

You Might See Me At Howard Homecoming...
What's goodies fam, so if you didn't know, in addition to working with my dude JustPlainAnt, I emcee with the Earthtone Crew. Yesterday we had the opportunity to perform at the Harvard for Black people A/K/A Howard University at YardFest 2008. I've been to Howard Homecoming a few times and knew how crazy it could be, but to actually perform is a whole other level. All I can say is that I love DC. The Vibe was is so ill, everybody was fresh to death, the ladies were looking marvelous and there was so much love spread around.

Those were the days
When I was young, rappers actually displayed skills. Nowadays all they do is display "swag". But check out this footage of better days with Canibus, John Forte, DMX, Mic Geronimo, Big Pun, and Mos Def chop it up and kick a dope cipher.

Funeral of the Tape Deck
What up, I love cassettes, i still have all of my original tapes from my younger days...Eric B and Rakim, The Beatnuts, Public Enemy, the list goes on. But we live in a digital age now, and sorry to say, the cassette, and its counterpart the tape deck are now pretty much extinct.

Johnson & Jonson Gutter Dub
Everybody wants to be a rapper these days, and everybody is staking their claim as rap royalty, thats cool, but what ever happened to just rocking shit? There is one cat who is doing such a thing by the name of Blu. If you are a on the level, then you've heard Below the Heavens, his project with Exile, and his crew C.R.A.C Knuckles with Ta'raach. This dude doesn't stop, his latest release as a member of Johnson & Jonson with Mainframe is definitely going to be that dopeness. Raw lyrics and raw beats...peep...

In Due Season We Shall Reap...
Peace family, I love this time of year, the leaves begin to change, school is in session, and it gets cooler so you can actually wear clothes(i'm a hoodie, sweater and boots dude). Some folks may have heard me with my groups Score One For The Little Guy, and Earthtone, and ask "what's up with that solo joint?". Well folks the time is almost here. I've been working for some time now on an official solo joint called "Due Season 2.o". It's gonna be an EP, just to give you a taste of what I'm all about, nothing fancy, just raw beats and rhymes with a progressive vibe to it. The Production will be handled with care by Just Plain Ant, who you really need to check out, peep his debut "FLY", and will feature some of Richmond's dopest up and coming emcees. Its been a long time coming, and my wifey said i should of dropped this a long time ago, but timing is everything in my opinion.
